Fuel Good Factor

Liddell Thomson worked with Forestry Commission Scotland and its partners to develop the Fuel Good Factor campaign to promote the use of woodfuel as a source of heat. The Fuel Good Factor has been endorsed in the Scottish Government's 2020 renewables roadmap.

We hosted a woodfuel communication workshop with biomass officers and partners to develop the communication campaign. This included developing a strategy, messaging framework and implementation plan. The outputs from this workshop informed our writing and design support for an information leaflet, presentation template and media activity.

We also advised Forestry Commission Scotland on its All Energy Stand, in particular a marketing initiative that would attract interest, help to create copy for pre-show publicity and to drive traffic to the stand, in an extremely busy and crowded environment. It was suggested that a series of guest presentations were undertaken on the stand trailing the benefits of using woodfuel. The presentations, organically conceived, to be undertaken on a soapbox were publicised as events in themselves and part of the All Energy itinerary.

Fuel Good Factor literature also helped to strengthen ties with woodfuel suppliers. Many companies within the industry were included in a woodfuel ‘trail' and had the campaign literature on their stands to promote the marketing activity.
